2024 L.A. Times B2B CEO Visionary
Alignment Health Founder and CEO John Kao has been recognized as a CEO Visionary by Los Angeles Times’ B2B Publishing division in its fourth annual C-Suite: Trends, Updates and Visionaries magazine. The annual magazine celebrates top CEOs who are impacting great change and spearheading successful organizations in Southern California.
2024 GLOBEE CYBERSECURITY AWARDS WINNER
Alignment Health has been recognized as the Gold winner of two 2024 Globee® Cybersecurity Awards: “Achievement in Cybersecurity Team” and “Achievement in Cybersecurity Leadership,” recognizing David MacLeod. The 2024 Globee Cybersecurity Awards aim to acknowledge individuals, organizations, products and initiatives that have displayed unparalleled excellence in safeguarding digital systems, networks and data. The annual program aims to raise awareness about cybersecurity issues and honor those who have significantly contributed to protecting organizations and individuals from cyber threats. In 2023, the company was recognized as “Cybersecurity Team of the Year” and “CISO of the Year | Healthcare.”
2024 U.S. News & World Report Best Insurance CompanY
Alignment Health Plan in North Carolina has been named a 2024 "Best Insurance Company" for Medicare Advantage (MA) by U.S. News & World Report for the second consecutive year. It is one of only three MA insurance companies in the state to make it to the list. For an insurer to make the U.S. News list, its Medicare Advantage plans available in a given state had to earn an average rating of 4.5 or more stars by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a five-star rating. In 2023, Alignment Health Plan was one of only four MA insurance companies in North Carolina to achieve the honor, and in 2020, was named a Best Insurance Company for MA in California.
2024 Newsweek World’s Most Trustworthy CompanieS
Newsweek has named Alignment Health as one of the World’s Most Trustworthy Companies in 2024, based on an independent survey of more than 70,000 participants around the globe who evaluated companies based on investor, customer and employee trust. The rankings on Newsweek.com recognize 1,000 companies across 23 industries and 20 countries, culled from 230,000 evaluations that considered all stock-listed companies headquartered in one of the target countries with a revenue of more than US$500 million. Alignment Health was recognized in the Health Care & Life Sciences category. In its second annual year, this award is presented in collaboration with Statista, statistics and market research company.
2022 ACG ORANGE COUNTY INNOVATION AWARD
Alignment Healthcare was named the 2022 Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Innovation Award winner for its proprietary technology platform AVA® and clinical care model. This award honors an Orange County, Calif., company that uses innovation to differentiate itself in the marketplace and drive the success of its business. Alignment was selected as one of three finalists in the Innovation category out of more than 100 nominees. The ACG Orange County chapter is part of a global organization that includes 60 chapters involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions.
2022 PHARMACY QUALITY ALLIANCE AWARD
The Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) has been recognizing Medicare prescription drug plans for their achievements in medication safety since 2011. For the fifth consecutive year, in 2022, Alignment Health Plan received the PQA Laura Cranston Excellence in Quality Award, which recognizes Medicare Advantage Drug Plans with at least a 4.5-star out of 5-star Part D summary rating and a perfect 5-star rating on all five PQA medication measures used within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services star ratings program. Alignment Health Plan has received the PQA Excellence in Quality Award since 2018, the same year the company received PQA’s Quality Improvement Award, becoming the first health plan to receive both PQA awards in the same year.
2022 SENIOR CHOICE GOLD AWARD
Alignment Health Plan’s AllCare Preferred (HMO) in Stanislaus County and My Choice (HMO) plan in San Francisco, San Joaquin, and Santa Clara counties have earned the 2022 Senior Choice Gold Award for excellence in 2022 Medicare plan benefits value and performance. The plan is among 27 Medicare Advantage plans nationwide to be recognized based on an independent cost-sharing analysis of more than 100 Medicare managed care plans by HealthMetrix Research Inc. Alignment’s Platinum (HMO) plan also received the Senior Choice Gold Award in 2020 and 2019.
EXCELLENCE IN 2022 MEDICARE ADVANTAGE BENEFITS VALUE
Three of Alignment Health Plan’s Medicare Advantage plans have been recognized for “Excellence in 2022 Medicare Advantage Benefits Value” by HealthMetrix Research Inc.: Platinum (HMO) in Reno, Nevada, NC Premier (HMO) in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the One (HMO) in both Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. Alignment is among 16 Medicare Advantage plans nationwide to be recognized based on an independent cost-sharing analysis of more than 100 Medicare managed care plans by HealthMetrix Research, a research firm that also issues the Senior Choice Gold Award. Only one Medicare Advantage plan per metropolitan area is recognized each year based on benefits and estimated annual cost-sharing approved by Medicare for the selected plans.
2020 OCBJ FASTEST GROWING PRIVATE COMPANIES
For the fifth consecutive year, Alignment Healthcare ranked in the Top 5 on the Orange County Business Journal’s (OCBJ) Fastest Growing Large Private Companies list in 2020. The annual list ranks Orange County, California-based privately held companies by revenue growth. In 2019, Alignment topped the Fastest Growing Private Companies list at No. 1 for the first time.

Inc.com has recognized Alignment Healthcare as one of America’s 1,000 largest and most inspiring private companies in its 2020 Private Titans list. In its second year, the list of 1,000 private U.S. companies crosses multiple industries and is ranked by sales and employee growth, balance sheet strength, valuation, and ability to raise capital, among other measures.

2018 GOLDEN BRIDGE AWARD
Alignment Healthcare has earned the Golden Bridge Awards® Gold status for two of its recruitment videos in the categories Brand Awareness and Other (Recruitment). The two videos produced in June 2017 aimed to increase overall company brand awareness, strengthen employee morale, and bolster recruitment and retention efforts. These videos were unscripted, featuring the unique personalities of more than 50 Alignment employees who volunteered to participate. The annual Golden Bridge Awards program encompasses the world’s best in public relations, marketing, corporate communications, and more from every major industry in the world.
2017 PBMI EXCELLENCE AWARD IN QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
The 2017 Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute (PBMI) Excellence Award honors exceptional drug benefit programs and strategies contributing to quality improvement. Alignment Healthcare has been recognized for its efforts to significantly improve medication adherence rates among seniors being treated for diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Using both sophisticated data analytics and concierge-level clinical support, Alignment’s program has helped reduce costs and improve outcomes for Medicare Advantage populations.

Newsweek has named Alignment Health as one of the Most Trustworthy Companies in America in 2023, based on an independent survey of about 25,000 U.S. residents. The ranking, viewable on Newsweek.com, recognizes 700 U.S. companies in 23 industries, culled from a pool of 3,100 U.S.-based companies with revenues over $500 million. Alignment was recognized in the Health Care & Life Sciences category. In collaboration with Statista, the second annual listing asked consumers to rate companies based on customer, investor and employee trust.
