Dave Hodgson is vice chairman of General Atlantic (GA) and has been a member of GA’s investment team for more than 40 years, having joined the firm in 1982. From the outset, his mission has been to partner with strong growth companies led by exceptional management teams to help their organizations become market leaders.
Mr. Hodgson serves as a board member of a number of public and private companies, including Alignment Healthcare, Howden Group Holdings, Royalty Pharma (NASDAQ:RPRX) and TriNet (NYSE:TNET). He is a member of the President’s Leadership Council at Dartmouth College and an emeritus member of the school’s Board of Trustees. He serves as a trustee for Johns Hopkins Medicine, board director for Johns Hopkins HealthCare, board member for Johns Hopkins Medicine International and trustee emeritus for Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Hodgson also serves as Chairman Emeritus of Echoing Green, a provider of fellowship support for entrepreneurs that he helped found in 1987.
Mr. Hodgson graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1978, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics and social sciences. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received the Kemeny Prize in computing at his alma mater. He earned an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he also serves as a member of the school’s advisory council.
